"Texas Monthly" and their take on the "Mineola Swingers" prosecution

The full article can be found here.
"The DA in (Wood) County, where the building is located, says nothing happened here at all."
The proximity of the Newspaper office to that of the "Swingers" club is significant. They were right next door, which is what prompted writing the column that more or less set this controversy off.

Remember, this is important because Texas Ranger Philip Kemp is involved. Up to his neck.

Did anyone ever consider these charges were first made in order to out the people who attended the club and then use the investigation as a reason to shut the club down?

There are well established guidelines on interviewing children - Kemp did not follow these guidelines. Why?

Kemp also didn't trace the phone calls which is another well established procedure. Why?

Why would a cop in the elite Rangers not follow basic procedures in two major cases?

Is he just incompetent? Or did he know in both cases if he did his case would fall apart and he couldn't do anymore investigating?

He probably knew both of these slips could result in a conviction being overturned. Maybe he didn't care. Maybe he thought the process would be painful enough.

Does Kemp have a problem with people who have more than one sex partner?
