The Pharisee Stops by to Visit Texas (FLDS News Explodes!)

Extra! Extra! Read all about it, the Pharisee is in Texas on this Big Day.
I continue to have limited blogging ability. It's because in my new job I am rarely in a place where I can blog. There is no restriction on my doing so from my new employer but it's always one thing or the other, I have the time, but not the access, the access but not the time, both time and access but literally no power. Computers love power.

Toes has uncovered the strong possibility that Blues is either someone else (making me WRONG again!)(well, not really) that is related to Greg J. Prickett. Read all about it.

Blues has closed his/her/their blog, which you all probably know by now.

Bill Medvecky reveals that when the Rock of Sacred Identification was cast into the Dark Anti FLDS Bat Cave, the winged rats started flying in all directions.

Ain't life grand?

To me, "TxBluesMan's" identity has always been a way to get behind the curtain. The Blogger(s) were either important power players, or being fed by them as fronts. It appears now that the latter is true with Bill's claim (believe me it's well founded) that the Texas AG's office is materially involved:
"Who would have thought that an Assistant Attorney General of the State of Texas would have not only jeopardized her Bar License, but will result in the overturning of all of the convictions made so far for giving opposing council (At the time), illegal access to States Evidence.

Personally, I DO NOT believe Ms. Goodman worked alone. I would not be surprised in the least if barbie knew what she was doing at the time. The likelyhood that she took it upon herself to supply Natalie with the States evidence without Nichol’s knowledge and/or approval is also slim. Did good old Ironsides know? Probably."
If provable (I have no doubt that someone in the Texas AG's office was helping, along with others), this news should implode the states cases and blow up at least some if not all of their convictions. I honestly don't know how it affects the plea bargained cases since they preserved their right of appeal, and I in my humble opinion don't see how this news affects appeals, directly.

Here's how it might work: Now that the State's surrogate Ms. Malonis and one of the AG's office have put themselves in jeopardy, the highly politicized judiciary of Texas will suddenly decide to "hear" the evidence appeal, and find (shock) that the Evidence was collected illegally. There will be some conference (all verbal and off the record) in which the State of Texas suggests to FLDS attorneys that they drop the chase of their Cavalcade of Criminal Civil Servants and back of the prosecution of private parties, that the appeal will be expedited and upheld. The FLDS will probably take it. For the rest of our sakes I would hope they would role the dice and tear down the criminal house of Texas LE, but they probably will not. My guess is they will settle for damages and go home. Warren will shortly be a free man if this is the case.

In analyzing Ms. Malonis' sudden departure as attorney for Bruce Wisan and for Carolyn Jessop, all I can say is you don't stop when you're winning, unless really, you just lost big behind the scenes. An attorney jumping off the horse in midstream is either unethical, or the result of unethical behavior. We can assume the latter is the most likely explanation.

How did this all start? I can't say that I did it. Such connections have been suspected for a long time, but the strategy is indeed mine (though probably not exclusively so). Find someone in the "Blues" camp. Paint the target. Get target lock and tone. Watch 'em scatter and start taking names.

My "Unnamed Source" (who may be named anytime he/she wishes) was researching "GregJackP" (Prickett) and his connection with another Wikipedia user/editor identified as Natalie Malonis. As you may know, I take the position that "Climate Change" as "anthropogenic" is a myth. From what I can tell, my unnamed source doesn't see it that way. The fact though that I was involved in a "WikiWar" and got banned (here comes the silver lining) and the fact that I blogroll anti anthropogenic climate change blogs made my blog the result of a Google search. And my source read all about it.

And started putting two and two together.

And emailed me Friday, September 10th and asked if he/she could call me. I emailed the source my phone number, and it went from there. So on Sunday the 12th, I blogged a picture of Greg Prickett and asked "WhoDat?" I wasn't going to do that but the unnamed source (who was not doing what they were doing at my bidding or knowing who I was) had already called Greg. He had been alerted.

The source and I have since become friends and we talk often.

Shortly before that I had given all the information to a variety of real "operatives" having also immediately disclosed the information to people who could communicate it to the FLDS. The strategy switched from "sneak up behind them" to "shock and awe" and watch the rats scatter while taking inventory of their identities and their incriminating behavior.

It now appears that people on the "other side" are talking to save their skins and the 10,000 piece jigsaw puzzle suddenly began to take shape and the rest of the pieces of course, started to fall in place. Believe me, a selfish part of me would have been tempted to keep the story close to the chest until more parts of the puzzle fell in place and published a big piece on my blog (the seagull mentality, mine mine mine) but this has never been about me so as I said, I distributed the information and those various cooperative independent "operatives" went to work with their God Given unique and similar talents.

Naming Toes,Bill Medvecky, Da Vulture and Scott Ledbetter doesn't paint the whole picture, they were just the ones who have been public about their involvement, but the list is longer.

In the end what I hope and pray for is a total discrediting of the various local, state and national law enforcement agencies involved. I would hope that a legalization of polygyny grows out of this. I would like for those that proposed the fate of the FLDS, to go to jail.

Jail you say Hugh? I thought you did not approve of jails.

I don't, but Biblically the most apt punishment for false witnesses and conspirators of that sort, was to receive the punishment they intended for their intended victims. So, jail it is. I don't think that will happen, but that's the not quite fully banished idealist in me.

I encourage you to go and visit the Jury Bulletin Board Blog (FLDS Texas)* and see the monster in it's death throes. It's ugly.

I have a lot of thoughts on the matter, some will no doubt go stale while I am forced to wait for my new assignment. If they are still apropos when I change duties in a week, I'll share them with you. Otherwise I continue to pray for my FLDS friends, Warren Jeffs included, that their complete release come soon and as part of the bargain, that their lands be restored to them, and a damage settlement be offered and given to them by all who persecuted them in LE.

* Work down the page from where this takes you. The first post might be about me, or someone else, or several people. After a while it's about me. Again. Why would they be so furious with someone who incorrectly identified Blues and is setting himself up to be the fool again?

The Last of the Mohicans?

Some days are like being Elijah, in the cave.
From Free the FLDS Children:
"As some of you have already noticed, I have ceased to moderate the FLDS.WS website blog. That decision was not made lightly, and it is with deep sadness that I found this necessary, chiefly because during the past two years I have come to know and greatly respect all of you.

This is especially true of the children and parents of the FLDS. You are, without a doubt in my mind, some of the strongest group of people’s I have ever met and I proudly count you among my friends.

With or without my voice on the website, I will continue to support and defend your right to practice your religion as a fundamentalist Mormon.

I will also continue to support and assist those who need my help, notwithstanding my decision to withdraw from the site on a regular basis.

Take care of the 'Little Angels' and give them a hug from me,

'Grandpa Bill' "
It would seem Bill Medvecky has at least gone into "Semi Retirement."

Not me, not now, I'm still here. I imagine that we will hear from Bill once in a while.

Of necessity covering the FLDS moves more and more to the back burner. This blog did not come into being to champion the FLDS, and it will stay, or some form of expression will stay here (God Willing) for that reason and others. There are several rather momentous brewing developments that I will let you know about, as they materialize, providing they do.

I want to cover politics a bit more, especially in view of the upcoming election, and I've hinted at that several times.

I'm done moving. (I won't say WHERE to, only that I had to go back to Montana to GET my RV).

I've got a Job. (I'm not going to say where either).

Moving the FLDS to the back burner is not an abandonment of the FLDS. There are less and less FLDS men to try for one thing, and at some point Texas will run out of them. More and more the FLDS fight will center on appeal, the extradition (possible) of Warren Jeffs from Utah to Texas and Warren's seeming certain and eventual victory over his conviction in Utah.

I will cover these things avidly and keep you as up to date as I can.

Kaboom? "Mineola Swingers Club" conviction fuse starts burning...

This is something that Bill Medvecky has been following, and it looks like the Volcano is about to blow:
KYTX TV (CBS 19) - "The Mineola Swinger's Club convictions could be overturned. Jamie Pittman, Shauntel Mayo and Patrick Kelly were convicted of sexually exploiting children for profit. All three are serving life sentences for their role in the Mineola Swinger's Club."
The original story is doubtless somewhere else, but I thought I would treat you to a "treatment" similar to that of our FLDS friends, from the website People you'll see in Hell:
"Investigators discovered some pretty upsetting things that had happened, things that the children were able to reveal once their contact with the adults involved was eliminated and the kids realized that they wouldn’t have to suffer any longer. During the trial of 36-year-old Jamie Pittman, the first of the gang to be brought to trial, the full scope of what went on at the Mineola Swingers’ Club was revealed.

Jurors were treated to a two and a half hour videotaped interview with Texas Ranger Sergeant Phillip Kemp, the oldest victim and her then-7-year-old brother. Their new foster mother was also there to help the kids feel a bit more comfortable.

During the videotaped interview, the girl was very cooperative, drawing a diagram and describing the inside of the club that the Mineola Swingers’ Club occupied. She described how there were two guards standing inside the front door. She mentioned how 45-year-old 'Dennis' – who turned out to be Jamie Pittman’s older brother, Dennis Boyd Pittman – would sit at the front desk and collect money from people who came into the club to watch the movies of the children performing sexual acts."
But something is happening in Texas, that is nearly or completely unprecedented. One District Attorney has turned, on another.
"(The) Wood County District Attorney (has) faxed (70 pages of paperwork) directly to the appellate court. It's called an Amicus Brief. It essentially contradicts what the Smith County District Attorney's office is telling the court of appeals. 'I've never heard of an instance where one elected District Attorney directly contradicts what another elected district attorney is telling a court of appeals. I've never heard that happen,' concluded (Patrick Kelly's attorney Wes) Volberding."
Have you noticed something though, in one of the quotes above?

Who is in the middle of all this?

That would be Texas Ranger Philip Kemp, who now may be shown to have participated in some way, in yet another case of false testimony. He's in the chain of investigators that is "investigating......."

....Rozita Swinton.

I'm also going to say that Bill has been on this, all along. Nice unbiased picture of Patrick, don't you think?

This is a lot like the McMartin case.

You Talkin' to ME? (slightly updated)

I can't resist. Is Eric Nichols talking, to ME?
The San Angelo Standard-Times - "The prosecution spearheaded by Eric Nichols argued for a motion that would prevent the defense from doing certain things without approaching the bench.

One of the items regarded not allowing the defense to bring up media reports.

'This prevents lawyers from pulling up a newspaper article, magazine article or blog post,' Nichols said."
Since the Modern Pharisee has been the leading FLDS centric blog for the past year, occasionally swapping front runner status with Bill Medvecky, one has to assume that when Eric Nichols refers to blogs, he's referring to yours truly.

I accept.

LOL. Lemmings.

An Interesting Tidbit on Sentencing from Bill

I did not know this, and hope it's true:
Free the FLDS Children - "As you recall, almost no jurors said they would consider probation for Raymond if he was convicted. OOPS!

Since on Voir dire they stated that they would not consider probation, the Defense can ask for a mistrial, and a new Jury HAS to be chosen for the Sentencing Trial.

It’s (Barbara Walther's) plan to bring in every maggot she can find that hates the FLDS almost as much as she does. She has that right.

On the other hand, Janet (Jessop's "informal" Mrs.) has the right to speak at the Trial, and so does Raymond himself. By Texas Law, he can make a statement to the Jury just the same as he could have made a statement to (Judge Walther) if she were railroading him into prison."
Defense attorney Mark Stevens has some sort of inscrutable strategy that I have not fully divined yet. I am not an attorney, least of all a Texas criminal defense attorney. I continue to suspect that Judge Walther has left an appeal rich trail that any attorney who likes appeals would drool over.

Perhaps the "deal" where Stevens capitulated on FLDS members on the Jury was that no one would contest them if a new panel was seated for sentencing. Either there's a plan or Stevens is a spectacularly bad attorney, is hobbled by defense wishes (I would think he wouldn't have taken the case then) and everything I hear over the transom is that Stevens is not a bad barrister.

Frankly if they're going down, I'd hope the FLDS sets up some sort of legal confrontation that clarifies certain points of law, but on the other hand, I can understand of people like Raymond Jessop elect to take probation over idealism.

FLDS Hater Wheels Coming Off?

Bill Medvecky seems to have an insider.
"Judge Conn has Ordered Dan Fisher and Sam Brower to Salt Lake City to be deposed again. It seems that neither one can get their stories straight, and so Warren’s Lawyers have to figure out how many counts of perjury they can file."
Bill has had information like this early, before. Nothing as of yet is on the Mohave County Site.

Can We Stop Taking Legal Advice From This Guy Now?

I'm going to qualify this by saying I'm NOT a lawyer, but I don't think Wikipedia has this wrong.
So with the heavy qualification of, "I don't believe everything I read on the internet," let's go to the record:
Coram Non Judice - "The information that I have received is that the Utah Bar has approved noted Denton attorney Natalie Malonis' application to appear Pro Hoc Vice in the case of Jessop v. Jessop, and that Carolynn's local attorney has filed a motion and order in the case sponsoring Malonis' appearance. This may correspond with the upcoming hearing on the matter in Judge Walther's court in Schleicher County, Texas that is currently scheduled for September 28th.

I wonder if Grandpa Bile Medvecky's post on Pro Hac Vice [sic]* gave Malonis the idea to appear for Carolyn in the Utah court? Thanks, Bill, that was a good idea..."
Except, for this interesting tid bit from the "Wiktionary: "pro hoc vice" is a common MISSPELLING of "pro hac vice."

Bill Medvecky appears to be RIGHT
.

Whoever, or Whatever TxBluesMan is, he/she is not right.

Feel free to advise your Modern Pharisee. I could have it wrong, I'm not a lawyer. But if I'm right, whatever Blues is, is at best, a bad lawyer.

* Means "spelling in context," meaning the author is quoting as spelled by the one he quotes and generally meant to question the spelling found "in context." To note something [sic] is to suggest one of two things, that there is an alternative and legitimate spelling, or that the author quoting another author (for it must be spelled) is saying the quoted author is probably WRONG in their spelling choice. From this flows the common misunderstanding (just as in the hac/hoc controversy) that it means "spelling in-correct." Functionally, after examination, this is usually what is being claimed but not strictly what [sic] means, as it's true meaning is more polite.

That's gonna leave a mark, Bill Medvecky Scoops 'em again.

Merrianne Jessop is going home leaving foster care going to be with family. Bill is right again.
The Salt Lake Tribune - "Texas Judge Barbara Walther approved a plan that allows the 14-year-old girl to live with Naomi Carlisle, an FLDS member and a distant relative who moved to San Antonio from Utah last year to help families affected by the raid.

'We're absolutely elated, and we feel like this has been an answer to prayers,' said Willie Jessop, a spokesman for the polygamous sect."
Losers.
"The Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA, opposed the relative placement and asked Walther to keep the girl in foster care.

"Our largest concern was [Carlisle] has a 15- and a 17-year -old son in Utah and she has left them there and come out here to raise someone else's daughter," said Debra Brown, executive director. "CASA thought that was a little weird. And it just felt like with the track record and problems we've had on visitation we would have felt she was safer in foster care."

A CASA volunteer had been visiting with the girl about once a month but Walther asked them to meet with her more regularly, Brown said."
Balderdash.

Bill Medvecky hits the Radar Screen

BLIP !

From Brooke Adam's blog, "The Plural Life."

"So what did we do to pass the time? The reporters chatted. Caseworkers and ad litems (there were 13 in the courtroom by my count) chatted. And read.

Copies of an article were being passed around among the state workers, and I got a glance at the headline: 'CPS dykes want to groom [girl’s name omitted].' Yikes, I thought, not exactly material you want CPS caseworkers reading dur(i)ng a hearing on whether you are capable of caring for your daughter."

Thanks to Bill, we know for certain now that CPS in Texas reads the blogs. Thanks guys and gals. Hope you love it. I'm assuming of course they cruise mine from time to time. Sorry 'bout your Cowboys. Maybe next year.

At any rate, as I tried to explain to an alleged attorney poster at Brooke's blog, Rule one, DO NOT DIGNIFY THE MINOR OPPOSITION BY RESPONDING TO THEM (or naming them). Rule two? Refer to rule one. Next thing you know Bill will be getting tickets to Oprah to be her guest. When all you really have is a "convict them in the press" strategy, it's not a good idea to create news for the other side. Yet that is what they have done.

Since I now must assume that DFPS in Texas reads the "Pro FLDS" or "FLDS Centric" or "FLDS Friendly blogs," I'd like to provide them with a handy little tool.

Whenever you're wondering, just click.

As of today (it may change tomorrow) the number one PRO FLDS or ANTI site is:

Truth Will Prevail.

The rest in order are:

The Modern Pharisee! (Me Me Me Me Me Me!)

Free the FLDS Children (Bill)

The Common Room

Contraries

Sore Toes and a Bleeding Heart

Child Brides (Flora's site?)

Texas Polygamy

All of these are ranked by "Alexa Rankings" in the United States. The overall number at the bottom of the page, not the top. If your blog or site didn't have such a number, it didn't make the list. Comment if you think I missed one, and I'll insert it in the appropriate place right away. For a limited time. I assume that rankings will change over the next few days or weeks, Bill might outshine Google if he doesn't watch it.

I left out blogs like "Grits for Breakfast" which is a high ranking and great blog, but Scott doesn't blog consistantly on the FLDS so his fame is largely due to other pursuits. I can't break out Brooke's blog from Salt Lake Tribune statistics, but I would assume that if I could, it would outrank us all. Maybe all of us combined. Since I believe the facts are on the FLDS side, Brooke, though nominally neutral, would appear to be "Pro" FLDS most of the time.

What's notable is that they are almost all PRO or FLDS leaning blogs. 7 months ago, "Texas Polygamy," a nominally neutral (but really anti) spot was on top. Child Brides has never drawn very much traffic, and I now rate just below what must pass for the official FLDS mouthpiece, "Truth Will Prevail."

This shows you what people believe, where the news is, whose anaylsis they trust and where sympathies lie. Beyond inflaming the ill informed, the Anti FLDS side hasn't got much. As soon as the truth breaks through, and dawns on most of the nation, if it ever does, Texas is toast, and they've started giving us publicity. Hopefully, they'll try to investigate or arrest someone.
