Weighing in on lightweights who weigh in on the "Motion to Suppress"

I wasn't going to dignify (or was it vilify?) the latest from a certain blogger, but that's ok, someone else did I like, did.

Crap. I was hoping that link was something with more substance.

I kinda thought Von said said there wasn't anything there. You'd have to have more substance in what Von pointed to, for there to be more substance to the entry.

You know, silk purse, sows ear....

who doesn't seem to do a very good job in his analysis, at least from a lay standpoint. Some of the things he mentions may be technically true, but if so it is appalling."Technically true"? Are they true or not? And what, if anything, is wrong with his analysis?

I kinda thought Von said said there wasn't anything there. To me, it seems like what he said was that there wasn't anything there that he agreed with. No elaboration or explanation why, except for "that's appalling".

You'd have to have more substance in what Von pointed to, for there to be more substance to the entry. The entry in question was somewhat in depth, more in depth than the response.

I guess my point Lucille, is that I thought the piece Von criticized was fluff and rants backed up with an appearance of credibility. The blogger in question is fond of citing tons of material, which I have found often does not say what he claims it does.

To have someone with no iron in the fire like Von (The practical Theonomist) say that our other friend "doesn't seem to do a very good job in his analysis, at least from a lay standpoint." is indeed priceless. It's a huge slap. It makes "Blues" look like the frog in Aesop's fable.

"from a lay standpoint" is what clinched my opinion that it is not much of a "slap" at all. To go back to my comment above - "what, if anything, is wrong with his analysis?"

Lucille, let's put it this way. No one with any sense argues long with TxBluesMan. His purpose is to tie you up and frustrate you.

If I thought otherwise, I'd still be debating with him. I think Von saw that, and was charmingly and casually dismissive, and I like that.

He just looked at what Blues had to say, and evaluated it as "I don't get it." Von's not an idiot.
