Face to Face on Polygyny

Tomorrow I begin a sit down discussion with an elder in my denomination, on Polygyny.
I have no idea how long it will last. Normally such discussions do not last very long. Pastors in general resort to authority (their own) very quickly when a discussion of doctrines or theology does not go their way.

At issue is my place in the denomination. Whether I will remain in it, or be cast out of it. Either way works for me but I would greatly prefer to stay in the denomination. I will not compromise though.

Either I am convinced, or I will stand fast. Either I am accepted, just as I am in the denomination, or they must shut the door to me. Acceptance may be accomplished by agreeing to disagree, or by agreeing.

7am EST tomorrow. Your prayers are greatly appreciated and valued.

What exactly is your denomination?

The Orthodox Presbyterian Church.

Why do you go to a church that you don't believe in?

Hugh McBryde said...

Because cheese, there isn't one any closer to what I believe.

The acceptability of polygyny is not a core value. The identity of Jesus Christ is core, who God the Father is, is core.

I am a reformed tradition Christian and a conservative reformed tradition denomination is going to be the one that most closely reflects my own beliefs.

If you have done thing that are not right then quit. Repent! You cannot repent of something you don't know. Some one comes and wants you to chage and you don't feel it right then don't change. I live my religion and adhear to it because they have never changed the program. Have I been ask to change? Yes. Yes! This whole life is a sequence of changes but I decide which one I will conform to. I CHOOSE TO FOLLOW WARREN JEFFS! That is my choise. And I do not condem you or any other for choseing something differnt as long as I know you are doing it in good faith and not trying to dam me for what I have chose.

Clearly, I do not damn you for choosing as you have. God judges me, and all men.

I shall stalwartly support all of you, as I have so far.
