New ANTI FLDS blog UPDATED

You always question whether or not it is a good idea to point to the opposition.
I have removed the link as it distresses friends, but it can still be found. A brief survey of that site shows me someone is trying to hurt the FLDS, which I think has been the object all along of releasing all that information on them.

Are teenage marriages accpeted as the norm by most members of the FLDS or do most wait until they are over 18 years of age?

My strong impression is that most are married before the age of 20.

What a strange red herring response! Of the FLDS girls who are married at 20 years of age or younger, are we to assume the majority are married between 18 and 20? How many are married under 18? How many under 16? Under 14? Would you say you hesitate to answer some of these questions?

The website contains only photos of FLDS members and Warren Jeffs dictations so why do you call it "the opposition?"

I only know that by the time of 20, from my limited exposure to the FLDS, that there are few single girls left. I cannot honestly tell you when most wed, it varies from state to state as do the governing laws in those states. Last I checked they could, and often DID marry at 15 or so, in Utah, because it is often legal for them to have sexual relations at that point in time. Utah consent law is based on age differential. Girls cannot marry at 14, but can consent to relations with men who are 5 years older, or less.

Detective Slocks, I would reign in the hyperbole and watch what is actually being said. I am vary careful in how I phrase things.

I thought that you wanted the truth to come out...

Or is it just the truth as you see it?

I made a decision to not offend those I consider to be friends blues. If you wish to post a link to it an your blog and say that it's there, here, by all means do so. Just don't link directly to it at this site.

Anyone can find it with the clues I've given anyway. I'm not sure I should point to the site in view of how offensive it is to some I have come to care about.

It's obvious you're very careful about how you phrase things, which is why, when asked about marriages under 18 in the FLDS, you responded about marriages under 20.

I see nothing on the website you mentioned that would merit calling it "the opposition." The website is only a collection of FLDS-created photos and writings.

But I'd love for you to explain what, exactly, these pictures and dictations oppose.

While you're at, point out any other hyperboles you see on this page, as the only one I can identify is your comments about THE OPPOSITION.

Slocks, I have no statistics on FLDS marriage, they don't publish them either. I'm sure that one of the reasons is that some of their practices would be at least, borderline, legally. As a consequence, they are somewhat reticent when it comes to discussing such practices, and don't publish marriage age statistics for their communities, that I am aware of. Any FLDS member, or anyone knowledgeable may feel free to correct me or supply that information.

By saying "20," I expressed the personal belief that nearly all FLDS females had resolved their marital status by that time. I was using that figure to say that I believed the vast majority FLDS women married in their teens.
